Quilting
I'm attending The Quilt member meeting at UW in Seattle today and Tuesday.
This is the second Quilt meeting I've attended. The Quilt is gaining a lot of momentum in some critical areas. This is a good demonstration of the power of disparate organizations working together to accomplish much more collectively than they can individually.
The Quilt has already had very good success at negotiating discounted Internet bandwidth prices for its members. I have been very involved in the Quilt Peering initiative, which is making very good progress with negotiating regional peering relationships on behalf of Quilt members. There are other purchase negotiations underway, which look promising. The Quilt IPv6 project also looks intriguing.
