Huge and overwhelming summer

This summer is shaping up to be one of the most overwhelming I've experienced in a very long time.

- Ethernet router testing: probably 160 hours, most of it in the lab, and a lot of planning, coordinating, documentation and communicating
- GigE network deployment: biggest one is the GeoMAX project, which by itself is pretty overwhelming, but there's also deployments happening in multiple parts of the state
- Backbone routing design: closely tied to the first two, before anything can be deployed, we need to do a pretty decent job on designing the backbone routing policies, which are affected by edge policies and addressing policies. Probably 40-60 hours of work here.
- IX-1: getting the conference program put together, along with logistics, will be a lot of work
- IP Addressing Clean-up: I probably won't get to touch this until later this summer, but it really needs to be worked on now. There are a lot of politics in this project, that need time to be worked through and worked out.
- Regional peering/transit exchange: I'm getting what I've asked for here, sooner than I expected. Carriers are interested in what I'm proposing, now I need to move it along faster than before. Not so much work now, but really ramping up.
- Community networks: UVCN is experiencing some success, and the UTOPIA project is expecting to launch this fall. A lot to learn about both, and so much coordination. And both quite a drive away.
- Vacation: I'm taking time off in July for two trips, and probably again in Sept and October. I'm looking forward to it.

On top of this there will be lots of unexpected issues, and plenty of expected minor projects.

It's going to be a busy summer.
