Not so hot lava

Yesterday we visited the Lava Beds near Tula Lake, California. It was about an hour drive from Klamath Falls through some beautiful Oregon farming country. The Lava Beds are an ancient volcanic area where there are miles and miles of solidified lava flows, lava tubes, lava chimneys and quite a bit of interesting history. We had a lot of fun hiking through some caves that were once rivers of hot lava (that gives you something to think about while hiking).

Today we are on our way to Bandon, Oregon and the Oregon ocean coast.
