I can see the future, and it looks like a lot of work
Tim Mullen writes at SecurityFocus about the recent wide-spread Microsoft RPC vulnerability. He predicts that this will be implemented into worm programs before Christmas.
Troy Jessup, UEN Security Analyst, has also written about this.
Unfortunately, this vulnerability uses a port that is used by many of Microsoft's most popular applications, so it's very difficult to block on a wide-scale basis.
Looks like the security folks will have a busy holiday season. Better than being laid off, I guess.
