The suspense is killing me
Spent a lot of time today sniffing out rumors of a major vulnerability Cisco is about to announce.
It's very frustrating knowing that someone else has information that could help you, but all they can tell you is to get ready for the worst.
From what I've been able to gather, Cisco has pre-released information to major network providers and other "critical infrastructure" operators, but for some reason, is deliberately not able/wanting to release any details to other customers.
We have been pushing our account team hard for information, anything, but they are either unable to get information or prohibited from releasing information.
The way this is being handled, it has to either be a very serious vulnerability, or very easily-exploitable, or both. Most major carriers have been doing emergency upgrades network-wide the last few days, so I'm inclined to believe it's an easily-exploitable, very serious vulnerability.
Tomorrow will be interesting...
